Originally from Tokyo, Japan, I’m a current Angeleno who has previously lived in New York and San Francisco, although it was never my goal to live in the most expensive cities. Upon graduating from New York University where I studied Psycholinguistics and Entertainment & Media Business, I worked in entertainment marketing before pursuing a career as an actor (yes, my parents were alarmed).

It was during this time that I (unsuccessfully) lived paycheck-to-paycheck and racked up credit card debt that did not magically go away when I ignored it. After getting some TV, commercial, and hosting experience under my belt (along with years of waiting tables), I returned to the corporate world as a marketing strategist – and determined to get better about managing my money.

This led me to create my podcast, Ms. Money Moves, with Bleav Podcast Network, and Money with Megumi in an effort to document my journey, share the knowledge and wealth, and encourage more conversations around money.
